The web portal The evaluation of regional development policies in Italy through a new database (from the 1950s to the 2000s) provides scholars and citizens with a variety of sources on measures supporting the industrialization of the Mezzogiorno, with different dimensions and characteristics.
The interface is based on a map viewer that serves as the hub for all research operations. The databases, which can be interactively queried (excluding the SVIMEZ section), are organized by year, sector of activity, type of funding, and geographic area (municipality, province, region).
It is possible to conduct a spatial search by selecting an area of interest directly on the map and viewing all the funding located there. Alternatively, temporal and thematic filters can be applied to narrow the analysis. Users can easily switch from a general level of exploration to a detailed one that includes both the spatial distribution and the specific characteristics of public funding.
