His research interests focus on the socio-economic delay of Southern Italy before and after unification and on the financial and productive issues of the Italian economy throughout the twentieth century. Speaker at various national and international study conferences, he is a member of the editorial board of the Rivista Economica del Mezzogiorno (Svimez) and a referee for scientific journals in the economic field.
