Carlo Brambilla is a lecturer in Economic History at the University of Insubria and visiting professor at the Lehrstuhl für Innovationsökonomik at Universität Hohenheim (Germany). His main research interests concern economic and financial history between the 19th and 20th centuries. He is the author of numerous works on the history of banking systems, bank-industry relations and industrial financing, and, more recently, on industrial history, with particular regard to industrial policies and structural change.
